With a grey palette layered with plush textures and dark highlights, this ultra-chic home features a skillful mix of colours and contemporary pieces.
Always a timeless colour, grey still plays a big role in many modern homes today. For this home in particular, grey takes centrestage as the key feature to tie in other details cohesively. To kickstart the palette, the designers employed a subdued grey couch to bring attention towards the dark smoky-toned TV wall that extends all the way to the dining area. To serve as highlights, black outlines adorn the ceiling while a black lampshade and the dark toned TV cabinet bring everything together effortlessly.
The dining area, just next to the living room, complements the home’s prevailing palette. To match with the smoky-toned feature wall from the living room, the designers used black chairs and a deep brown table, along with a few pops of colour in the form of dining ware.
For the kitchen, the designers defined the area by using a monochrome approach. This time, white becomes the main hue – the countertop and cabinet finishing feature a sleek white look while a grey-coloured reflective surface is used for the backsplash. Appliances become part of the décor. The ovens and the refrigerator are tucked neatly into the built-in cabinets for easy accessibility and convenience. An L-shaped counter serves as a breakfast bar, illuminated by three black pendant lights above.
The palette warms up significantly in the master bedroom, acting as a departure from the key theme of the rest of the home. However, the designers ensured that there’s still a visual link to the main concept. For instance, while a wood-dominant theme is used, the same clean and clutter-free treatment of the space is evident. The wood headboard goes all the way to ceiling while the wardrobe features dark highlights. In the second bedroom, the interior design is similar with the one in the master bedroom. Here, the tailor-made bedframe matches beautifully with the wood flooring and the builtin wardrobe.
