An exercise in contemporary luxury is artfully embellished with arboreal elements from the tropics.
Nice-Style Refurbishment decorates this family home with a blend of luxurious finishes, modern furniture, and tropical elements in the various shades of wood and pockets of foliage. Upon crossing the threshold of the entryway, the eye is treated to a splendid combination of cream floor tiles, reflective metal trim, mirrored planes, and recessed lighting saturating the open layout with warm golden light.
Thematic Juxtaposition: Elements seemingly transported from the tropics adorn a backdrop of wood and gilded accents.
With the exception of the various mirrored planes in the open layout of this home, the majority of vertical surfaces are alternately adorned with wood or stone panelling bordered in reflective metallic trim. The seating lounge presents a plane of mirrored panels as the backdrop for the entertainment wall, with subtle segregation served by simplistic grey frames for shelving around the television and the nearby window.
A conjoined space dedicated to the kitchen and dining area is reflected in the mirrored wall, the dining table and kitchen cabinetry merging into a cohesive background of wood that is delectably bathed in golden light and accented with reflective metal trim. The dining table is of a recently prevalent design, composed with a minimalist horizontal plane of wood and supported by joined legs of carbon-coated steel.
The accompanying dining chairs are upholstered in a shade of blue previously seen in the lone swivel chair of the seating lounge, while the sheen of the chair legs echo the narrow branches of the gold-plated Yoka chandelier hanging overhead. The colours of the space converge on the canvas mounted on a nearby wall, the blues of the upholstery and the yellow accents represented in vivid brushstrokes.
A mix of dark wood cabinetry, mirrored backsplashes, and recessed lighting in the kitchen throw shades of brown and gold across the cream floor tiles. The gilded cabinetry and shelves of the kitchen are repeated with slight variations in the private spaces of this home: the secluded family lounge and the smaller bedrooms feature shelving units lit from within, with the mirrored rear panels exchanged for absorptive materials that reduce the glare of lighting in the more compact spaces.
The reflective materials and illuminated storage extend to the largest of the bedrooms, where dark wood projections accented with mirrored panels and diminutive lighting fixtures serve as bedside furniture. A portion of the master bedroom is set aside for a spacious walk-in wardrobe, featuring similarly customised storage fittings backed by a simplistic geometric motif for a measure of novel contrast.
