Time to spruce up your homes! The holidays are over and this proves to be the perfect time to indulge in a little spring cleaning. But before you glove-up and spear ahead; we’ve prepared some handy tips to keep your home in tip-top condition.

Choosing The Right Paint
1. Check out paints from different stores and brands before you decide on your dream colour. When selecting paint to match fabrics or flooring, be very observant and analyze carefully. Oil-based paint tend to have a different effect in the night and day, hence the colour may vary slightly from what you see in the store.

2. Paint swatches can be used as reference for fixed equipment. However if you intend to look for carpets that match your bathroom tiles, refer to paint swatches shares similar colour with the tiles.

3. If you can’t find the right paint that suits the existing paint flakes, apply a base coat to make the colour appear lighter. It is normally harder to find matching paints for darker colours, so things would be made easier as soon as you’re done with the primer.

4. Consider spicing little details of your home with paint, for example the vent and cover of the drain pipe, this will make them look less obvious.

5. Don’t miss out on the flooring. Cement, wood and vinyl that seem inconspicuous can have a very positive decorative effect after a new coat.

7. Don’t be afraid to use colours that are bright and sharp, as they can bring life to the decoration of a room. Then again, be sure to balance it with light and conservative colours.

8. Use a light colour for the high ceilings, apart from a brightening effect; it also makes the room look more spacious. Try matching the colours of the wall to the ceiling, and you’ll find that one distinct colour may be used for both the wall and the ceiling, and still look good.
