Getting Better With age
26th January 2012,
Leave it to the Japanese to revolutionize and perfect even the most ordinary of things.
The coming together of three visionary designers is the result of Furnish, a Tokyo-based lifestyle furnishing brand with a pronounce statement. Founded in 2005, the collection seems to have reached an epidemic, spreading and gaining popularity not only in Japan, but also in Europe and the United States. And of course, recently added to their tentacles: Malaysia (inshoppers.com).
The idea behind Furnish is simple: Take something completely mundane, and make it practical and fun. At first, Furnish’s products will awe you into curiosity … then they’ll entrance you into realization … before long completely convincing you to be one of its collection proud owner. Because all their products are locally produced in Adachi-ward suburbs (Japan), Furnish has been able to control its output quality down to the very miniscule detail. Despite the agricultural state in which Japan has been in since the quake, Furnish’s designer unit commits to utilizing only traditional Japanese techniques and materials for all their designs, current and new.
FLOWER VASE

There is a clear direction in which Furnish designs its goods around. The Flower Vase, a 100% polyester sleeve that comes in an array of colors, helps wine lovers rethink the use of their finished bottles. Rather than normally tossing it out, slip one of these eccentric sleeve over the bottle and voila!
—an economical vase.
WINEGLASS HANGER

We’ve all experienced it: gripping wine glasses between the tight slits of our fingers while trying to balance a bottle of unopened wine between our forearm and chin. An innovative and seemingly effortless approach to avoid a shattering mess is this wineglass hanger. Push the slit onto the stem of a wineglass, turn it upside down and place the hole over the neck of the wine bottle. This set-up makes for a great centerpiece as well.

For anyone who’s a constant host at their homes, these decorative and mesmerizing coasters will wow all your guests while protecting your expensive dining or living table from being compromised. These elusive coasters not only make a fashion statement, but are also flexible enough to serve on any occasion and makes for a wonderful gift.
