Julien Bergignat:Urban Waste
Julien Bergignat : Industrial Designer
The consequences of constant negligence and selfishness towards Mother Nature is affecting us more than ever now, and praise be human kind has finally been shook hard enough into a state of shocking realization.
So there is hope yet for all of us and the generations that follow! I don’t know about you but I’m using all sorts of methods in my daily life that I know contributes towards the greener direction. Why use plastic bags when stylish chic eco-friendly shopping bags are on sale for such a minimal cost. Why throw papers away when they can be recycled. Most importantly, why let your rubbish pollute the earth when it can be turned into biodegradable waste.
Hailing from France,25 year old Julien Bergignat believes that; “The complexity of our lives is tending to build the future of design through an overall performance. Today we must think sustainable and useful concepts in order to develop design for those who need it most: the future generations.
Finding a new holistic way of doing things right begins with optimism. Because of that I’d like to say that my work consists in designing all this little details that make life better. Focusing on this idea is to advance the design, and allows us to imagine the future as a time of great opportunities.”
Urban Dustbin
Today, due to climate changes, political issues, social evolution and the emerging markets, we are fighting against the clock with our waste. Design becomes responsible for a green and environment-friendly future more than ever. Can you imagine tomorrow’s world full of «green» waste under the pretext that Mother Nature will do the work?
That’s why today’s designer can be more like an “ecological father” of new ideas, for the next coming generations. Envi, is a foresight urban dustbin, promoting composting from biodegradable waste. The project is based on a social approach, showing the benefits that we can take from urban recycling. It makes waste into nutritious compost for the plant which it carries and lives in harmony with. The big part of the produced compost can be separated from Envi for usage in other occasions.
This project uses bio-reactive substances based on photo catalysis to accelerate the degradation process of waste, remove bad smells and polluting gas. It is an indicator of human activities on our environment. If the people action is positive the plant grows up, if not it will disappear. Envi is eco-friendly in a coherent approach; attention was placed on the choice of the materials and their treatment.

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
