Double Designers Delight

More than 400 guests from across the asia pacific attended the gala dinner to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA) and to present the 19th Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards (APIDA).



APIDA gives recognition to outstanding design projects and designers, promoting professional standards and ethic among interior design practices operating in the Asia Pacific. This year, APIDA has attracted about 600 entries from the Asia Pacific Region including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

The presentation ceremony was held on 22nd November 2011 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Awards were selected by 10 categories – Shopping Space; Food Space; Work Space; Public Space; Installation and Exhibition Space; Living Space; Leisure & Entertainment Space; Hotel Space; Sample Space; and Student. There are gold, silver, bronze and excellent awards in each category. The 8 judging criteria’s were: Originality and Innovation; Cost Effectiveness; Fidelity to Client’s Brief; Functionality; Creativity; Space Planning; Aesthetics; and Environmental Concern. A total of 55 awards were presented this year.
