Future of Interior Design

15 July 2010,

“The definition of design for me is very simple; it’s merely solving a problem that has been given to you,” – Amirko aka Amirkhan Abdurakhmanov

Moscow, Russia’s cultural center for centuries has been home to most of Russia’s most famous authors such as the first Great Russian novelist was Nikolai Gogol. But besides being known for Russian roulette and Vodka (the ice-breaker at every party) – the country is now churning out a new sort of talent. The designing talent. And Amirko aka Amirkhan Abdurakhmanov, is just that sort. Stumbling upon the idea only by chance during a stroll with his father who pointed out to Amirko an ugly bus stop and suggested that maybe he could be a good designer. Being only 14 at the time with no serious interests in studies and only good at drawing – that didn’t seem like a bad idea at all.

Already renowned on the Behance Network for his “Change It!” wall, he’s just contributed his fresh ideas into interior designing; the latest is for a young female student from a fashion design school whose main aim was to organize the space around the working area. Having the upper hand as the apartment was built with an impressive cylinder blueprint; the minimalist almost futuristic style was opted for. Using a pristine white as the base, the fittings and furniture remained cool shades of grey or white with little dabbling of vibrant colors. Most importantly is that the amount of space created for storage of personal belongings is extremely conducive and lives up to every need and purpose of which the apartment has been designed for.
