Falling In Love In Summer
17 April 2012,
Located at the Nanhu National Holiday Resort – a unique splendor national vocational zone in Baiyun district, Guangzhou, Yihe Summer Palace Golf Chateau is defined as a top-notch residential place for member of the Nanhu Golf Country Club.
The design of this summer villa aims at creating an unparalleled living condition to fit in with the metropolitan’s aspiration for quality life.
Taking inspiration from the surrounding picturesque landscape, the interior design of the Summer Villa aims at capturing the distinctive essence and spatial relationship between land and water, while at the same time making the scenery stand out and be part of the living space. This special experience between virtual and reality becomes the dominating concept, resulting in two inverted volumes being tied up together both in the living area on the ground floor and in that on the lower ground level.
On the ground floor, an adaptation to the land and water concept is the relaxing swimming pool and the roomy living space by its side. Here an eye-catching strips pattern in gold and clear mirror runs through the ceiling and wall behind the sofa unit, and continues in the opposite side as the floor finishing of the swimming pool, resulting in a reflected image that give a sense of unity of the upper and lower spaces.
The entertainment space on the lower ground level repeats the inverted volumes concept by creating different levels for the dining and living areas. While the sunken living area by the courtyard is highlighted by dark grey carpet in shadow-like patterns, similar graphics repeat on the stunning white lattice wall feature that encloses the elevated dining room on the other side. The lattice patterns of this “second layer of skin” simulate the sparkling surface of the lake and duplicate the inverted concept but in an even more playful, upside down manner.
“WITH ITS INNOVATIVE PROGRAMME AND EXCEPTIONAL SPATIAL EXPERIENCE, THE SUMMER VILLA OFFERS A NEW VISION OF MODERN LUXURIOUS LIVING.”
