Amber’s New Creation PART1

Amber Chia is an influential character in the modeling industry, who could refute that there are many who love her and there are many who stand on the opposite track. Without a doubt that no matter what she did – she did it with grace, even with a baby. As we went in for an interview with her, we only thought of her as a supermodel, only to discover that she is only human and loving the fact that she is not carrying a new life. Seven months into her pregnancy- still looking gracious and absolutely glowing with beauty, she spills the beans.

1. When did you find out that you were pregnant?

I found out I was pregnant when I came back from my honeymoon. I registered with my husband December last year during my birthday and then we went for our honeymoon – Brazil, Hong Kong and Gold Coast, Australia. After I came back from my honeymoon, I was busy planning for my wedding that is in Bali. I told my husband that my period was delayed and he just told me that maybe I was too stressed because when I am too stressed or I am too busy my period would be delayed. When I came back from Penang, I told him that there was something wrong as my period was delayed for almost half a month nearing a month. And after that my husband just bought the pregnancy test and I went to the toilet to check. (Cheekily) I still remembered that before I went to the toilet, I brought in a blue pen and I thought that I wanted to play a prank on him. And when I test, the first line came out and then I wanted to draw a line – suddenly the line came out. And I was like “I am really pregnant”. (her eyes seem to bounce, the moment she said pregnant).

2. So, the big question. Is you baby a boy or a girl?

Mine is a baby boy.

3. How has pregnancy been for you?

I think I am very lucky, as that is the reason why I did not know I was pregnant until it was one month plus. The reason was because I had no morning sickness, I had no craving and my energy level is still the same. In fact I feel stronger when I am pregnant. I am not different in anyway, except that my tummy is getting bigger. I do not have my bikini body but I am moving towards a different status and doing different things.

It’s like my dream come true, this is something like a gift from the gods. I am really happy and appreciative because there is a saying that goes like “its not like if you want it, you can have it”.

Now that I am pregnant, my baby has already gotten two endorsements. One of which is Avent, which produces baby products, he gets a higher pay than me. The other one is called CellSafe international. They sponsor products for me at the same time endorse my baby.

4. Who designed your baby room?

Crown furniture. Iko sent me the picture of the baby room and there were five designs. I chose this one because he was a baby boy, the other three were purple, blue and the other was pink. I think blue is quite common and pink was for girls, that is why in the end I choose green. There were two shades of green; one looked more corporate and this one looked very cute. Its apple green, it looks fresh and apple green looks really healthy, and I am sure that the kids would love it.

I am glad that my interior designer, Edwin from Fix Interior helped me to design and helped me to pick. I am a very difficult person, because when you ask me what I like, I would tell you that I like all of these and I would not know what to choose. I am very happy that he gave me very good suggestions. I believe that that if he can make something that I like in my house, he would definitely be able to make something that my baby would like in his room as well.

5. Do you have any plans on retiring after you have given birth to your baby?

No. Even when I am pregnant I will never stop working. And the reason is because I am the kind of person who enjoys working. I think that it is very important to keep my energy going. There are a lot of pregnant woman that feel emotional and tired, it is because they have nothing to do. It’s like what I experienced before, so when I went back to work. I enjoy. Sometimes, I do not think that I am pregnant; it’s almost as if I forgot that I am pregnant. So it has been quite easy for me.
