Branding + Feng Shui

30 June 2011,
These two elements can be integrated into the design of a commercial office successfully.
1. The first thing you’ll notice are the cute blobs of colourful chairs in orange and maroon, welcoming you to sit down and make yourself comfortable.

2. Knowing that Sandy is big on Feng Shui, Eric created this ‘8’ cutout, featuring mangosteen pattern in one of the circulars. The maroon pillar is decorated with the logo of one of the XANGO products.

3. The perfect platform for branding. No matter in what direction a speaker stands, the guests will be able to see the logo behind him. Also, it is a good place for photographic sessions.

4. The wall with the bold XANGO sign and a poster of mangosteens provides a good photographic opportunity.

Regular users of the Federal Highway (from KL to Klang) will definitely notice a big orange signage bearing the words XANGO on Quattro West, next to PJ Hilton.

If you are impressed with the signage, wait till you go into its office. Decorated in their corporate colours of orange, maroon and silver, the office presents a very strong corporate image for visitors – you just know you are in a XANGO office. As a company that markets premium mangosteen juice through multi-level marketing, the office is designed to have a ‘feel-good’ and welcoming atmosphere, befitting the nature of the business of relationship-building.

Feng Shui in the office of an international brand? Sandy Lord, the country director for XANGO, is a believer in Feng Shui and by working closely with Eric Chin from Pryde Concept, they have successfully incorporated the elements into the design of the office without compromising on its functionality and layout.

Sandy even goes so far as to calculate the kua number of her staff and position their workstations in the right direction, in addition to setting the right time for the renovation work to start and the official opening of the office. According to her, it makes sense since the office is a place where income is generated; hence it’s important to “make sure it (design) is done the right way”. It seems to work as well, as distributors and staffs love the office and the place is as she said it “full of abundance.”

Eric, meanwhile, thinks that Sandy’s Feng Shui ideas are fairly modern and practical. Instead of letting it become a barrier, both of them discussed how they can incorporate the Feng Shui elements into the design. “It turns out pretty smooth; we only need to do minor amendments,” Eric relates.

“If you can meet their (clients) need, then they will be satisfied,” Eric explained how he turns clients’ idea to reality. And from the praises given by Sandy for Eric, it’s clear that she is pleased with what Eric has done for XANGO, creating a approachable office with a strong corporate identity.
